A New Chapter
I know I talked in a previous post about graduating and things changing, but I would like to explain a bit more about where I am at in life right now and what God is doing. Praise to God, I was accepted to go on staff with Great Commission Ministries at New Life Church, and at the start of February I headed down to Orlando for new staff training. I learned all about how to share with others about the ministry I am involved in and how they can be involved. I have since been working full time doing Ministry Team Development (MTD) and have also done a bit of traveling.
Not really work related, I had the opportunity to travel to Arizona in mid February as well to run the Ragnar relay with my sister and her family. We ran 202 miles in 30 hours. It was a lot of fun and great sibling bonding. Even though running through the desert is probably not my favorite thing to do, spending time with people is. In a way I think God used the trip to show me how much I love and connect with Him through running, and also how much I really love spending time with others and getting to know them. We also explored the downtown Tempe area, which is a pretty hip college town atmosphere with a lot of unique shops, restaurants, and bars.
Upon returning I was thrown right back into work, which consists of making phone calls, meeting with people, and a lot of behind the scenes logistical work. Although some of these tasks prove more difficult than others for me, I can honestly say that it has been wonderful reconnecting with old friends and hearing what is going on in their lives as well as sharing what God is doing in mine.
I then headed off to El Salvador with a group of students and leaders on a mission trip. God did so much that it is worth its own post, which I am also currently writing. In short, God renewed my passion for La Libertad and for ministry and reminded me of what is important.
I am now home and working and settling into my schedule. It has been an adjustment setting my own hours each day and motivating myself to do all the things I need to do, but it has also been such a huge blessing and I have nothing but praises to sing to the Lord.
